ICPC arrests MDG’s coordinator, accountant,over N300 Million scam


The Benue state coordinator of Millennium Development Goals, MDGs, Mr. Timothy Aikyor, his accountant and other top officials have been arrested by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, ICPC over alleged financial impropriety levelled against top officials of the office amounting to over N300million.

ICPC, a reliable insider said stormed the office, ransacked the premises and took away vital documents from the accounts department and coordinator’s office.
It was also however gathered that the arrested officials who were few days ago whisked to the ICPC headquarters in Abuja for questioning had made useful statements to operatives of commission.
A source noted that the commission had also placed embargo on the bank accounts of the MDG office in Makurdi pending an indepth investigations into the matter.
Dailypost learnt  that though, some of the officials of the office had been granted bail by ICPC, they were directed to report daily at the Abuja office of the commission.
The state Coordinator of MDGs, Mr. Aikyor, who declined comment over the arrest, said he was not prepared to discuss the issue.
