Tottenham to stun Man Utd and Arsenal with £17m bid for German starlet Julian Draxler

 

TOTTENHAM are plotting a bid for Schalke's 20-year-old starlet Julian Draxler.
Reports claim that Mauricio Pochettino will stump rivals Arsenal with a £17m bid to lure the German international to White Hart Lane.

The Argentine manager has yet to flex his financial muscle in this summers transfer market since his arrival from Southampton.

However beating North London foes Arsenal to Draxler's signature would set a strong precedent and certainly endear Pochettino to the Spurs faithful.
Arsene Wenger is a long-term admirer of the midfield live-wire, and has been rejected by the attacking midfielder on more than one occasion.

Draxler revealed that he declined the Frenchman's advances in January, he said: "In January there was the offer of Arsenal, but I decided to stay."

The highly sought after youngster has already made waves throughout Europe with his displays of pace, agility and maturity.
Despite his growing reputation, Draxler could only manage two Bundesliga goals in his 26 appearances for Schalke last season, with a further six assists to boot.

Draxler was given 15 minutes in Germany's 7-1 demolition of Brazil last night, and could become a World Cup winner at the tender age of 20.
