AS a new era got underway at Manchester United on Saturday, David Moyes was trying to put his turbulent tenure at the club behind him in Miami.
Moyes jetted out for Florida and some time in the sun after agreeing a severance package with United earlier this week.

The Scot was sacked by United on Tuesday morning less than a year into a six-year contract.
It is believed that Moyes received a financial settlement of around £7m for his time in charge.

But Moyes still looked shell-shocked by the nature of his dismissal as he dined with his wife to celebrate his 51st birthday with wife Pamela.
Moyes is said to be angry at the way his dismissal was reported in the media before he was told and believe he was betrayed by those who were supposed to support him.

He poignantly neglected to thank the players in a statement after leaving the club, saying: "To have been appointed as manager of Manchester United, one of the biggest football clubs in the world, was and remains something of which I will always be incredibly proud.
"I have always believed that a manager never stops learning during his career and I know I will take invaluable experience from my time as United's manager.

"I remain proud to have led the team to the quarter finals of this year's Champions League and I remain grateful to Sir Alex Ferguson for believing in my ability and giving me the chance to manage Manchester United."

Moyes is now thought to be plotting his next steps with high levels interest from across Europe.

Indeed, Moyes has been heavily linked with jobs at Tottenham, Newcastle, Aston Villa and West Ham but may instead opt to take the next steps in his career in the German Bundesliga.
